Targeted at individual buildings or tenants, Ecological provides benchmarking, monitoring, and analysis services that enable buildings and tenants to efficiently manage and improve their resource usage.

Ecological can monitor and assess energy utilization, recommend efficient solutions, fine-tune operational performance, and reposition buildings as green.

Building Performance services can be engaged at a number of different levels and be customized according to the needs of the client. The first phase of understanding how a building is performing begins with benchmarking energy usage, which involves collecting and analyzing historical utility data, establishing a baseline for continuous monitoring and improvements, and complying with green legislation. Benchmarking gives Ecological a high level visualization of current usage patterns and allows us to identify “low hanging fruit” improvement opportunities.

Ecological builds upon the benchmarking data by conducting on-site building evaluations, which allow us to identify “low-hanging fruit” improvement opportunities and then work with building management to create optimum efficiency in the building’s major sub-systems. Systematic energy auditing identifies energy conservation recommendations and provides detailed payback analysis. Ecological works with building management to review recommendations, implement selected strategies, and develops behavioral and educational programs as required for project success. After implementation, Ecological provides ongoing performance monitoring, real-time analysis, and trending usage alerts to ensure that the building continues to operate with full efficiency.

The services included at the Building Performance level allow Ecological to typically deliver 15-40% savings in conjunction with a 3 year monitoring and analysis service contract.
